VACANCIES FOR BICKLEIGH PARISH COUNCILLORS
Are you looking for a new challenge?
Do you want to make a positive difference?
Bickleigh Parish Council has two vacancies from members of the public to serve as parish councillors and represent the local electorate.
This is an exciting opportunity to get involved in making decisions about important issues affecting the local community, including the environment, traffic and transport, planning and housing, policing and anti-social behaviour, community events and local amenities.
You will need to attend Parish Council meetings normally held once a month and spend some extra time on working group meetings which discuss individual areas of interest in the Parish.
Parish Councillors volunteer their time to work on behalf of their local community. If you have lived in the Parish, or within 3 miles of it, for at least a year and are over 18, you are probably eligible (please check with the clerk for further eligibility criteria). Training will be available, funded by the Parish Council.
If you would like any additional information about the role please telephone the Chairman of the Council on 07970 669441, for an informal chat.
If you would like to apply for the role please write in the first instance to the Parish Clerk at parishclerk@bickleigh.gov.uk - please provide some information about yourself and tell us why you would like to join. ... See MoreSee Less
CAROLS ON ROBOROUGH GREEN
It is with great regret that the Christmas Carol event intended for Roborough Green has had to be cancelled. The event jointly organised by Bickleigh Parish Council, St Mary the Virgin Church of England and Roborough Methodist Church had been intended to take place on 23 December.
Having taken professional advice from a range of bodies it has become apparent that we are not in a position to run the event due to safety issues.
We understand that many people will be disappointed but the safety of everyone attending has to be the highest priority.
It was a fantastic idea to bring the community together and we are currently discussing ideas about how to run the event in 2021.
We are sorry to disappoint everyone in these difficult times and we hope that you will understand. ... See MoreSee Less
